How the calculation works.

Recording capacity

Streams × Mbps × 1,000,000 ÷ 8 × recording hours × 3,600 × days ÷ 1,000,000,000,000.

The result is decimal TB. Add the selected percentage of headroom to get the required usable capacity.

Know the limits

Average bitrate needs a representative measurement or justified assumption.
Disk calculations assume equal-size disks and do not choose compatible hardware.
RAID is not a backup; spare drives and rebuild planning are outside this tool.
A recorder must actually support the required capacity and number of drives.
