A better brief starts
with the right questions.

Use this checklist with your site team. Keep sensitive plans and credentials in your approved internal systems.

1. Site and operating context

  • Site locations, type of operation and normal working hours
  • Areas to cover and areas that must remain private
  • Busy periods, night-time conditions and planned layout changes

2. The problem to solve

  • Specific incidents or operational questions you need to review
  • Required access restrictions and response responsibilities
  • Who needs to use the system and who administers it

3. Existing infrastructure

  • Device and software models, where known
  • Recorders, storage, switches, cabling and backup power
  • Relevant warranties and existing maintenance arrangements

4. Acceptance and support

  • Recording retention and authorised retrieval process
  • Representative scenarios for commissioning tests
  • Required documentation, training and support arrangements
